Position Overview

This position will provide over-the-phone and occasional on-site technical support and maintenance for the mission-critical Outage Management System (OMS) as well as provide technical, subject-matter expertise for project work, as needed. This position is responsible for resolution of moderately technical and complex problems occurring within the application.

SCE’s Outage Management System (OMS) provides critical planned and unplanned outage information to our Transmission & Distribution Organization as well as our Customer Service Organization. The system allows identification and management of outages from initial incidents through restoration and also feeds analytical data to several outage-related Operational Excellence initiatives as SCE.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Providing phone and occasional on-site technical support related to troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex system issues. OMS is supported 24/7, 365.

  • Supporting activities involving clients, IT teams, and vendors in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our systems – including after-hours (rotating schedule) and Tier 3 support.

  • Working on project technical tasks as assigned.

  • Ensuring maintenance and support activities are in compliance with IT processes and adhere to our SLAs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience supporting deployments and changes to large applications and platforms.

  • 2 years of experience performing IT technical analysis or related support functions and providing recommendations to resolve issues.

  • Experience troubleshooting moderately complex problems related to real-time systems.

  • Experience supporting Windows applications using Oracle.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, science/technology.

  • Experience working with and/or supporting an electric utility Outage Management System.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Transmission and Distribution networks and/or experience with Distribution Management Systems (DMS) is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning

  • Strong coordination and communication skills to support working with cross-functional teams and vendors to achieve success in planned maintenance activities.
