Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 4.9 million customer accounts.
The successful candidate will support the Transmission Asset Management at the grid level and across the grids as directed by the Grid Manager (GM). This position will work with the grid Gate Keeper (the GM) and analyst to gather, compile, review, assess, and create orders from notifications in SAP. This individual will assist the GM, General Supervisor/Superintendent (GS), construction crews, grading crews, and patrol organization with scheduling, execution, and completion of compliance documentation, record keeping related to Inspection and Maintenance activities, and capital projects within the grid. This position will coordinate with the Field Accounting Organization (FAO) and vendors with ordering, delivering, and staging of all material related to both capital and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) work within the grid.
This individual will manage material deliveries and staging in remote field locations for capital projects, including collaborating with project delivery related to remote base/temporary storage and staging yard requirements within each grid. This position will also manage forecasting and tracking of all tools (both capital and O&M) at each grid hub. This position will maintain warehouses material storage, emergency stock, and yard at each grid hub directly, and all remote bases. This individual will collaborate with an analyst to develop and utilize spreadsheets and databases related to labor, material, forecasting, and recording to facilitate accurate strategic budgeting and forecasting in all areas. Lastly, this position will perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Monitors compliance due dates through CMS and SAP.
Secures material needed to complete compliance dated jobs.
Coordinate for traffic control, heavy equipment or cranes at the request of local supervision.
Keep the grids up to date on ground rotations as well as the properly dated and tested rubber goods and TRT harnesses.
Works with the local facilities management team on proper storage of hazardous material and flammable material along with proper housekeeping at the local grid base.
Manage operational compliance documentation (DVIR, driver’s files, and Tailboard forms).
Must have a minimum of three years of experience in utility operations/construction.
Must have a minimum of one year of experience with underground and overhead transmission construction standards,including the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) GO 95 and 128.
Must have a minimum of one year of experience procuring and tracking budgeting costs for construction materials.
Must possess a valid Driver’s license
Desired qualifications :
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Typically possesses three or more years of experience in transmission line construction and operations.
Demonstrated experience with Transmission work methods, equipment, tools, materials and vehicles.
Demonstrated broad project management experience, including using and updating project tracking tools, creating and editing reports, adjusting schedules, reallocating resources, and providing updates.
Demonstrated knowledge of safe work policies and procedures.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop and implement plans/tactics, with limited information and under tight time constraints.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment to meet shared goals and objectives.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused.
Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Position will require 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
