About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position overview

This position will be a Performance and Resource Supervisor within Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Transmission & Distribution Business Line. The successful candidate will serve as the Performance Supervisor and manage all district performance metrics, scorecards, and other performance-related tools. This position will report directly to the District Manager.

Typical responsibilities

  • Maintain performance management tools to drive crew productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction; track monthly scorecard results and develop performance improvement initiatives; provide timely, consistent, and accurate feedback regarding performance and recognize employees who demonstrate exemplary performance; and spearhead initiatives to drive performance improvement.

  • Support work order coordination and scheduling procedures at a high-level; project and manage workload three weeks into the future and beyond by assigning work to crews, overseeing long-term schedule for balance and overall date compliance with the goal of optimizing crew productivity.

  • Supervise personnel in Yard Management who are engaged in the preparation of material for multiple projects and district Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews, provide coaching, mentoring, training & development, resolve employee disputes, and make hiring and disciplinary action decisions.

  • Establishing, developing, and executing business objectives and plans.

  • Establish and maintain high standards of excellence, communicating frequently and openly, engaging others in the solution of performance management problems and responding professionally to personnel requirements.

  • Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • 2 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience.

Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable professional, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Typically possesses five or more years combined experience in electrical construction, planning, inspection, or coordination.

  • Experience with Initiate, Plan, Schedule, Execute, and Close (IPSEC) model and/or scheduling procedures.

  • Experience overseeing and assessing performance metrics and other performance-related data sources.

  • Experience overseeing or managing multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience using ClickSchedule software and procedures.

  • Knowledge of district Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the IBEW collective bargaining agreement and its application in handling labor relations issues.

  • Understanding of distribution accounting and timekeeping practices.

  • Previous experience as a Scheduling General Supervisor, Planning Supervisor, or Field General Supervisor

  • Experience with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
