Position Overview:

This position will be a part of the Corporate Payroll/Timekeeping Department in the Rosemead general office location.The Project Analyst will work with a team of project analysts and report to the Senior Supervisor in Corporate Payroll Time & Pay.The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and monitoring timekeeping for a specific organization. This position will also require the ability to provide reporting and analysis to management.He/She will interface with all levels of management to address key timekeeping issues and provide technical support as needed. The Project Analyst will pursue or participate in process improvement initiatives to build efficiencies; identify potential cost savings; determine system enhancement needs; develop process/system enhancements, update/modify/approve new or revised policies, training, job aides, processes and procedures.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the highest quality, most efficient time keeping support to all Edison employees.

  • Process Timesheet and Pay Adjustments for employees timely and accurately for our internal clients. (i.e., correct timesheet errors; work schedule changes including substitutions; spot bonus processing; and accounting changes).

  • Work individually and in a team environment on timekeeping process improvements

  • Partner with team of analysts on continuous improvements and best practices

  • Collaborate with our business partners and leverage automation to increase productivity.

  • Provide client training with a focus to increase employee/manager self-service

  • Resolves a variety of conventional problems, questions, or situations in conformance with defined criteria, practice or protocol.

  • Recommend solutions to issues by referring to OU guidelines and SCE policies and procedures

  • Analyze data and recommend solutions and process improvements

  • Ensures core work is completed on timely and accurately.

  • Review reports in advance of payroll closing to identify errors in an effort to correct them before payroll runs. Responsible for submitting separations for employees, e.g., retirement, voluntary and involuntary


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in the analytical field with data and statistical analysis

  • Two (2) or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such asVLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Desired qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience, education and training

  • Two or more years of experience with Financial, Merger & Acquisition and/or power industry knowledge.

  • Experience communicating complex analyses and information to senior management.

  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

  • Two or more years of experience of project management experience.

  • Two or more years of experience of problem-solving through strategic and creative processes.


  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Relocation is not available for this role.
