About Customer & Operational Services:
Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Customer Service Organizational Unit (CS) shares the responsibility to safely deliver reliable, affordable electricity to our customers. We support this effort by working to meet customer expectations. Customer Service is dedicated to operational excellence and innovative thinking through our workforce in our call center, field operations, billing and payment center, outage and demand-side management and other service offerings.
The project manager will manage the development and implementation of projects related to the exchange of confidential information between SCE and external parties. These projects may be due to regulatory mandates, data security or operational efficiency and may have specific implementation instructions and/or timelines. In the course of completing these projects, this position may also interact with various levels of management, other SCE organizational units as well as external parties including the CPUC, consultants, vendors and customers.
Develops comprehensive business and project plans and contributes to the development of department and business unit goals and strategic plans.
Develops scope, schedule, budget, risk management plan, business requirements, process flows, data flows, and other project materials.
Manages project implementations and is responsible for adherence to scope, schedule and budget as well as quality and regulatory compliance.
Balances frequently conflicting priorities, limited resources, extremely tight planning and implementation timelines, and risks, amid a constantly changing environment.
Makes strategic decisions regarding changing project scope and direction.
Identifies and manages resolution of complex issues which have moderate impact on the department and other departments, and which typically do not have an established precedence for resolution.
Establishes and manages cross functional teams including representatives from multiple business units and external representation from consultants and vendors.
Provides leadership and strategic direction to teams and is accountable for the performance and output of these teams.
Identifies required resources, establishes goals and expectations, and clearly communicates assigned responsibilities to project teams.
Ensures resources are effectively allocated, team members understand the impact and value of their contribution to the team's success, are aware of the roles and responsibilities, and are held accountable for their responsibilities.
Provides guidance, follow-up and feedback to assist team members to effectively achieve goals
Represents the Company with contractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, customers, other departments, and/or other parties as required. Interacts with senior management regularly and is a subject matter expert for the systems managed.
Seven (7) or more years of technical experience with any combination of the following to implement/maintain business applications: defining system requirements, planning/executing test plans, oridentifying / resolving software defects and successfully meeting business needs.
Proficiency with MS Office applications - Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Access.
Experience with regulatory processesconsistent with alarge regulated utility.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Economics or other related discipline
Outstanding oral and written communications skills including ability to communicate complex technical information, proposals and recommendations to a general, business or management audience.
Experience with technical projects.
Project Management certification.
