The Senior Advisor IT Outsourcing Management, resides in the Service Management Office & Operations division within Southern California Edison (SCE) Information Technology department. The Senior Advisor partners with vendors, Enterprise Architecture Planning & Strategy and Solution Delivery to identify appropriate technology solutions that fully meet business requirements. Their assessment is a key input to the decision on the solution/vendor. Additionally, while functioning as an internal consultant to other IT organizations, this role will conduct research and execute studies for innovative methodologies on sourcing to improve the bottom line.
Forecasting the demand and capacity required to deliver on the demand from Enterprise Architecture Planning & Strategy and Solution Delivery. Optimize time between project requests and project/service fulfillments.
Design the end to end solution and service level agreements across single or multiple providers. Establish service delivery frameworks and operating level agreements required to execute on the statement of work and implement the solution
Identify competitive sourcing options and make determinations on the most appropriate solution to fulfill demand. Works with IT partners to understand the business outcomes of the service, and with architects, service management, and operational organizations to assess service priority and available capacity.
Responsible for the integration between Service Management and Procurement to ensure execution of statement of work into purchase orders. Facilitates resource and vendor onboarding.
Periodically prepares and presents communications related to business process improvements, demand pipeline sourcing trends to senior IT leadership.
Makes decisions that have medium to high risks to corporate revenue stream and/or reputation, customer facing functions, or critical internal SCE functions.
Makes decisions on projects over $1 million that have medium to high risks to corporate revenue stream and/or reputation, customer facing functions, or critical internal SCE functions.
Provides direction / input and makes / assists in strategic decisions regarding changing project/product scope, policy, development, and implementation. Performs evaluation on issues that have a major impact on projects that also impact the Company.
10 years of experience in performing complex analysis, consulting, and providing IT recommendations on key business initiatives.
Experience identifying vendor management options for IT business initiatives.
Experience outlining service delivery and operating agreements required for a statement of work.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field.
ITILv3 certification(s) or experience working with the ITILv3 methodology
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate or equivalent.
ITIL Strategy Formulation, Contract Negotiation, and Vendor Management.
Knowledge of evolving IT technologies.
Knowledge of information technology with IT Solution design.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to analyze, summarize and recommend ideas and concepts to senior management in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
Ability to work in a matrix management environment to achieve desired actions and outcomes through negotiation and influence.
