Position Overview

This position will be responsible for supporting planning, business unit engagement, and training (PET), category strategy development, execution and performance measurement with a focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), compliance management and risk mitigation. Tasks may include but are not limited to, business unit engagement and planning, negotiating, developing, and managing compliance to contract/program budget, schedule, and quality standards. Primary focus is on identifying/delivering savings opportunities. The position will support the procurement planning, engagement, and training (PET) area within Indirect Procurement and may include other duties as assigned.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Leads, contracting and procurement functions of the Indirect Procurement organization and special projects, including PET, Customer Service, Information Technology, and Construction.

  • Manages the execution of programs or contracts that have financial impact and may cross organizational lines.

  • Interacts with Category Managers for continued sourcing success.

  • Maintains consistent interaction with suppliers and ensures adherence to established contracts.

  • Integrate work across relevant areas, developing strategies to enhance productivity, manage information and provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assess work activities for consolidation opportunities.

  • Assess best work practices and technological fit Performs analysis supporting the resolution of risk issues and gap identification.

  • Develops metrics to monitor area of responsibility, gaps and implementing action plans to remediate.

  • Develops, implements and executes change management strategies


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seven years of experience in supply chain or contract management.

  • Experience negotiating contracts and/or end-user licensing agreements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Master’s Degree MA MS MBA

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Experience with complex and back-office services contracts.

  • Demonstrated ability to present recommendations and other communications regularly to all levels of the organization.

  • Experience of Supply Chain processes and supporting activities.

  • Experience of purchasing practices and policies.

  • Experience of procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.

  • Ability to make decisions relating to various supply chain activities on a daily basis in office and field locations.

  • Experience with Ariba and SAP.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects to completion on an independent basis.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence and contractual documentation, group facilitation, and negotiations.

  • Approximately 30% of travel is required for this position
