Position Overview

This position will be the Telecom Operations Analytics and Reporting Business Analyst for Project Oversight and Support in the Grid Services Network & Telecom System Integration Services department within Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Information Technology organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing, analyzing and modeling operational and accounting data to quantify the performance of the organization and design new approaches and methodologies to improve business functions.

  • Performs ongoing performance and operational analysis on IT Incident, Service Request, Capacity management, and other operational data sets and provide business recommendations based on their findings.

  • Recommends solutions to new and complex problems, develops innovative strategies, and quantifies the competitive performance of the organization's operations.

  • Assists in the implementation of process improvements to continuously refine and improve upon project and operational processes across Grid Services.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Defines and develops dashboards/reports and ad hoc queries as requested in a simple and understandable format.

  • Collects, analyzes and reports data to support day-to-day operations.

  • Engages internal and external teams to discuss, address, evaluate, support, or advance operational improvement processes.

  • Develops strategies to eliminate gaps in service while improving efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Gathers reporting and analysis requirements and translates into data models.

  • Provides analytical support to various departments within the organization including formulating metrics and Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.

  • Acts as primary point of contact working with stakeholders to understand systems, processes and business needs.

  • Supports Grid Services by ensuring data meets the client needs and analyzing requirements from potential new data sources.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in analytics and reporting.

  • Experience handling complex and large amounts of data.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or relevant technical discipline.

  • Experience working in IT Operations or IT service management, preferably with working experience using Service Now, HP Service Center or Remedy BMC.

  • ITIL V3 Certification.

  • Six Sigma Certification.

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Zoho, or other similar tools.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.
