The job …

The Test Automation Engineer will collaborate with business product owners, software developers and architects to create test automation frameworks and solutions for applications, as part of SCE’s Digital Center of Excellence with the goal of disruptive innovation through design thinking and agile based methodologies, coupled with advanced technology platforms. 

Detailed stuff you will be doing …

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing and supporting frameworks for our test infrastructure and providing automation expertise to our development teams.

  • Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation

  • Use creative thinking to quickly identify and test edge cases for applications including:

  • Functional testing

  • Mobile Device compatibility testing

  • UX Testing

  • UI Testing

  • Integration testing of APIs

  • Performance and scalability testing

  • Security Penetration Testing

  • Create reports on software quality based on measures and KPIs to recommend the overall health of the release.

  • Work closely with Agile development teams to ensure that solutions are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance and operability in mind.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.


Qualifications you need …

You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems and eight (8) or more year’s hands-on experience in software development and delivery experience.

Three (3) or more years of experience in building test automation for Web, Mobile and Analytics Applications. Strong working knowledge of Test Automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Lean FT, Mobile Center) and integrating in the DevOps CI/CD Pipeline. Experience with Unit Testing frameworks – Jest, Mocha, JUnit/NUnit.

Other stuff you should also have …

  • Experience of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD using tools like Cucumber, Specflow.

  • Experience in setting by Mobile Test labs.

  • Experience in deploying solutions on cloud-based (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) architectures – Microsoft Azure preferred.

  • Experience with Agile product development methodologies and working on Scrum teams.

  • Passionate: You love creating intuitive and beautiful user experiences that exceed the needs of your users.
