About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The successful candidate will perform research to assist in writing distribution switching programs, including interfacing with districts and substations for circuit and amperage information. This person will be responsible for coordinating and processing planned outages requests utilizing the Outage Management System (OMS) and Substation Outage Request Log (SORL).
Typical Responsibilities :
Coordinating and processing the planned outage requests utilizing OMS and SORL.
Performing routine analysis of Outage requests and processing Outage Alert Notes (OAN) into the Outage Management System.
Performing quality checks and ensuring the process is followed for the zone (i.e., maps, project outline, timeframe, etc).
Engage in continuous learning and utilize good interpersonal skills and ethics.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
One or more years of experience performing routine analysis of work order requests and processing work orders into enterprise databases.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of experience performing routine analysis of Outage requests and processing Outage Alert notes into database.
Experience with an Outage Management System (OMS).
Two or more years of experience working with distribution planned outages.
Excellent time management mastery and ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule multiple tasks with minimum direction and adjust to changing priorities and assignments.
Experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with others, such as internal/external clients, peers, management, and other work units.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to be customer focused in order to understand and appropriately respond to internal and external clients’ business needs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Lotus Notes.
Experience with Utility Overhead and Underground Distribution Systems, Utility Substation procedures and equipment used in the field.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
Position will require up to 15% traveling and being out in the field throughout SCE service territory
